About: St. John's Lutheran Preschool

St. John's Lutheran Preschool is a mission of St. John's Lutheran Church. The mission of St. John's Lutheran Preschool is to introduce children and families to Jesus by presenting a Christian foundation for all learning activities while providing a ministry to our community.

Some of the goals of St. John's Lutheran Preschool are to teach children respect for others, to nurture the love of Jesus, to master social skills, and generally to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten. The preschool curriculum is based upon the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Content Standards of preschool children in the areas of English, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Currently the preschool has a morning and an afternoon class. Each class operates Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2½ hours each day, September through May. The fees are $95.00 per month tuition, a $25.00 supply fee, and a $50.00 registration fee ($25.00 of which is applied toward the last month's tuition). Class sizes are limited to fourteen children per class, with a teacher and teacher's aide in each class. Eligible children must be four years of age before September 30th of the current school year.

Our staff consists of an administrator/teacher, Diane Gruber, who has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University. She has been with St. John's Lutheran Preschool since 1996. Diane also has four years teaching experience with Head Start. Out teacher's aide, Darlene Heinz, has been with St. John's Lutheran Preschool since 1999 and has several years of experience in child care previous to teaching at St. John's.

For more information please contact Diane Gruber at the church office.
